A GROUP of prominent Lae leaders is in Port Moresby to support Lae MP Loujaya Kouza as Parliament prepares to debate the Lae City Commission Bill.
The group is led by Lae city manager Roy Kamen and includes Ahi LLG president and former rival of Kouza, David Agi, LCC senior project manager Robin Yalambing, and LCC chief financial officer Elizabeth Lolo Bradshaw.
Kouza, who is facilitating the visit, told The National at Parliament yesterday that she was disappointed that Morobe Governor Kelly Naru and Lord Mayor Koim Trilu Leahy were not with the group.
Naru did not attend Parliament on Tuesday and yesterday.
“As Lae MP, I’m encouraged and supported by the Chief Secretary Sir Manasupe Zurenuoc, and Speaker Theo Zurenuoc, in that the three of us are calling for the Lord Mayor of Lae City, Koim Trilu Leahy, to come to Port Moresby,” she said.
“In this time, before next week, we want to sit with him and iron out any misinformation with him, any misconceived ideas he may have about the Lae City Commission.
“In solidarity right now in Port Moresby are city manager Roy Kamen, the Ahi LLG president David Agi, and we have Robin Yalabing, who will take on the role of ward infrastructure development.”
