POLITICAL and administration leaders of Morobe are camping at Boana station, in Nawaeb district, to chart the future of the province.
More than 100 leaders, including local level government presidents, LLG managers, district administrators, public servants and politicians turned up for the occasion on Monday.
Morobe Governor Kelly Naru, Huon Gulf MP Ross Seymour, Finschhafen MP Theo Zurenouc and Nawaeb MP Gisuwat Siniwin were among them.
Notable absentees at the meeting were Bulolo MP Sam Basil, Lae MP Loujaya Kouza, Markham MP Paul Ezekiel, Tewai-Siassi MP Mao Zeming, Menyamya MP Benjamin Philip and Kabwum MP Bob Dadae.
The meeting known as the “Bush Kibung” was an event held every five years to chart the future of the province. This is its ninth meeting.
Siniwin said the people of Morobe wanted to see real change and it was up to the leaders of the province to plan for its development.
“Let us truly do our job,” he said.
“People want to see real change. So much talking and paperwork has been done but little action taken.”
Siniwin said public servants worked at “snail’s pace” and failed to implement decisions taken by politicians thereby delaying development.
