THE Kamea region of Gulf province has been neglected since independence.

People are unaware of government intervention and still inherit their traditional lifestyle.

To date, there have been no impact projects in our region with all roads, health, education and other government facilities in a state of disrepair.

It seems that the government funds earmarked for our district have been diverted elsewhere.

Politicians rarely visit us and only come around before and after the general elections.

Our district is one of the poorest in the country and yet our local MP and other leaders of Gulf continue to ignore our cries for government services and development.

Our local MP has gone into hiding and does not represent our interests in parliament.

The Kamea people are calling on the government to deliver much-needed services such as health and education and bring development to our region.
