Leaders, speak up against amendments

THIS  refers  to  the article on amending the Constitution by Parliament (The National, Dec 20), which limits the powers of the commission and  also  separates  laws for ordinary people from politicians.

I salute the judiciary team for a job well done.

By now, every citizen knows what is really happening in the parliament.

The current crop of leaders  does  not care  about the future of this nation.

The reality is the choices they make will have an enormous impact on the lives of their children.

They have always preached about uprooting corruption without realising that they are the real instigators.

I urge all MPs in the current coalition to think deep and put themselves in the shoes of the people they represent.

You were entrusted and mandated  to  be  the voice of your electorate.

Why are you so quiet when you know that the amendments to the Constitution are wrong?

Please do not limit your powers as legislators to enpower just one man.

Please  reconsider and do what is best for your people, the very ones who put  you  in  the  seat  you  now have in parliament.
