MORESBY South Rugby League will have a break next week for the General Election.
MSRL competition manager Moses Kumbi said the one-week break was to allow players to vote and also avoid election related incidents.
Kumbi said the safety of the players, supporters as well as the venue was being taken seriously by the competition’s management.
He said all A grade, Under-20s and women’s matches had been suspended.
Kumbi said the break would also give clubs and players to complete paying their registration and affiliation fees by July 15 deadline.
Kumbi said clubs and players that did not settle these fees would be barred from playing until they did so.
“We urged all clubs and players to comply as this is PNG Rugby Football League requirement.”
He also reminded clubs to submit their player summaries for their 25-man squads in all grades by July 15.
