STOP N Shop Port Moresby Vipers should be loyal to their players who were part of the team that made it to the top five in the Digicel Cup challenge last season.
The current players in the train-on squad are dominated by those who had a stint with the now defunct Hela Wigmen last season.
Vipers coach Shane Morris has a huge task to come up with a team after a trial run last week.
He may stick with a similar side from last year. Some notable players from other franchise clubs have also joined the Vipers to boost their campaign in the new season.
And Morris has been working with the players for the past six weeks during morning training sessions to mould and shape them for the challenge.
“We have set a trial match to watch these new talents. I have not watched them play. But we will be having another trial to pick the final squad,” Morris said.
Vipers should recruit promising talents to fight for spots in the team rather than recruiting seasoned campaigners.
However, these players will be given the opportunity to showcase their talents and skills in this weekend’s blockbuster between the possibles and probables.
The players will be vying for spots in the 22-man squad.
