QUEENSLAND Cowboys rugby league star, Carl Webb made his first visit to Kokopo, East New Britain, last week to help promote sporting initiatives especially the schoolboys’ rugby league in the province.
The trip was organised by Trukai Industries with the support of NGIP Agmark Ltd.
Webb together with Adrian Thompson and Kevin Marty visited Kokopo Primary School where teachers and students turned up not only to see the rugby league star, but to participate in the rugby league coaching clinic.
The Agmark Gurias team also had the chance to get coaching skills from the visiting team.
Gurias head coach Michael Marum was delighted with Trukai and the visiting team for opening doors to young players for possible recruitment by the Cowboys and its feeder clubs.
The clinic also provides promising local players opportunities to break into top level football, coaching and skills development.
