Learn from issues with Madang roads

THE precedent National Court decision by Justice David Cannings declaring the funding of roads in Madang town the sole electoral responsibility of the MP and the provincial government sends a very clear message to provinces, districts and leaders to take their electoral duties seriously.
The decision opens the avenue for people to seek legal redress for the lack of basic infrastructures in their electorates due to the intentional neglect and ignorance of their elected representatives.
MPs who served for more than two terms without tangible services should be held to account by the people.
