A CANDIDATE in ward 8 in the Gena-Waugla local level government in Kerowagi, Chimbu, is calling on fellow candidates to accept defeat when it comes to it and maintain order in their community.

Gabriel Boi Kugame said last Friday nobody pushed people into contesting the council election.

“We contest on our own will and whatever decision the people make during polling, we must be prepared to accept it,” he said.

Kugame said candidates should respect the rights of the people when they elected their leaders.

He said if they did not perform well in this election, they should learn from their mistakes and do better in the 2018 election.

“Council or general elections are seasonal things that come every five years and maintaining peace and harmony in the community is more important, ” he said.

Kugame people wanted good leaders who could deliver basic goods and services.
