Leave fare app initiative embraced

Letters

CONGRATULATIONS to the Education Minister Joseph Yopyyopy and secretary Dr Uke Kombra for the introduction of “my leave fares” application.
This sets the Department one step ahead from other organisations. Annually we see inconsistent numbers in the processing of leave fares throughout PNG.
As a result, teachers were paid less than what they applied for.
They also discovered forced changes in their selected transport mode and the late disbursement of funds.
Such are routine practices and disadvantages connected to leave fare applications.
We are optimistic that the introduction of “my leave fares” application will bring transparency and accountability in the processing of leave fares.
Such innovative system ensures that leave applications are tracked to know its progress after being lodged.
