Leave-fare issue persists

Letters

WHILE almost all provincial education board have settled their teachers’ leave fares etc, we in Western Highlands are still waiting for the provincial education board and government to come clear on this issue before we resume for classes.
As a senior teacher serving in one of the prestigious learning institutions, I have given much in educating the future elite of this province to achieve better academic results in the province, year by year.
It is frustrating when leave fares are not given on time for me to go back to my province over the holidays.
Western Highlands Governor Paias Wingti aims to prioritise education in the province and achieve quality learning by building many new schools.
How can we achieve quality education if teacher’s welfare is overlooked and neglected?
Please settle our grievances before we resume classes.
