Leave politics aside, focus on people’s need

Letters

THE four-lane road construction and other important projects initiated by former prime minister Peter O’Neill and continued on by the current Pangu-led government is fascinating and is a sign of total commitment dedicated to the people.
Politics should not be an hindrance to development.
The time to play politics is during elections.
The smooth progress in the implementation of projects by the Government is an indication of less politics.
It is good to see that the Government values our people.
Politics is sometimes a disease that holds up developments.
On behalf of the users of the Highlands Highway, especially my people of Wain, Erap and Boana, I extend my thank you to the O’Neill government, which I was part of as Nawaeb MP, for agreeing to build roads in regional centres before moving on to other towns and cities.
I acknowledge China Railway Ltd and its employees for their tireless efforts.
The people are now able to travel smoothly on the road.
Roads are catalysts for development.
We are pleased with what is happening on the Lae-Nadzab Road.
I thank the Government under Prime Minister James Marape as well.
To my fellow countrymen and women who wish to contest the election, let us value our people.
Let us leave politics aside when it comes to serving the interests of our people.
We can always focus on politics at our own time when it comes to forming the government, but our focus should be on our people.
I believe the bottom line is despite any situation, projects initiated by the Government should continue despite political differences.

Gisuwat Siniwin,
Nawaeb
