Leave the parks alone, governor

The National – Friday, June 24, 2011

I AM disgusted to read about the Morobe governor’s plan to convert reserved recreational and sporting areas into commercial, residential and industrial areas (The National, June 22).
It seems he does not care about our future generation or what we do after work and on the weekends.
We need such places to take our families for outings or get-together.
I think the Morobe government should look into developing and ensuring recreational and sporting areas are fully operational with facilities working.
These areas can then be maintained.
Look at what is happening in Port Moresby.
If the NCD governor can do it, I do not see any reason why we cannot follow suit.
All we need are some friendly environment areas that we can move around and enjoy ourselves.
