Lelang hails appointment

TREASURY and Finance Shadow Minister Joseph Lelang has welcomed the appointment of Rainbo Paita as the new Finance and Rural Development Minister, saying he believed Paita would be able to contribute effectively to managing public money.
Lelang said Paita had the clarity of mind to provide political leadership and directions that was much needed in the ministry.
This comes after critics raised concerns on Facebook, following Paita’s appointment last Friday, with many saying he was too young and lacked knowledge and experience.
However, Lelang told The National that he believed “the young minister would be able to undertake financial reforms and steer the economy clear of its current mess”.
