Let Health Dept handle pandemic

THE former prime minster is right in saying that the new coronavirus pandemic is a health issue, not a police matter (The National, July 30, Pg7).
Police can only be engaged to impose control measures set in place by the Government and during an SOE.
Otherwise, give the responsibility of leading the fight against this pandemic to health authorities.
Did the Government get it wrong on this one?
The health minister, his secretary and the deputy should be in the forefront on this situation.
Give the controller’s post to an experienced medical doctor.
Health issues are completely different from police matters.
