Let O’Neill govt remain

Letters

IN few weeks’ time the Opposition will be proposing a vote of no-confidence against the O’Neill Government.
While the law permits for such, the principle question is: does the country need it? Well, everyone is entitled to his or her own opinion which I am in no position to be judgmental. However, our opinion is that most people are inclined to swing with their emotions which in this time and age have been exposed to so much information via mediums like Facebook, print media and television.
How this information gets processed by individuals against how informed they are, relative to the issues raised, obviously will determine their judgment.
Lately, we have seen the Opposition going on full charge to give the public the impression that the Government is running the country down.
The Opposition, knowing that it does not have the number to beat the Government, is now on full throttle to create the impression that Prime Minister O’Neill is mismanaging the country.
Therefore, MPs within the Government should break alliance and join them.
But why at the expense of the country?
It is enjoying political stability and changes they have never thought possible through previous governments.
As far as the country is concerned, O’Neill is not only the best prime minister but he is the first prime minister that has seriously expanded the structure of the country’s economy.
He has undertaken economic measures that are projecting the country to be economically competitive into the future.
Critics will always find better ways to attack the Government but as they lift themselves up to see beyond the horizon, they will agree that, yes O’Neill was right by thinking big and beyond.
We have a prime minister who is smart and decisive to make decisions that are outside the sphere of small-time politics and conventional advice. This Government has proven that it is truly the people’s Government by playing less politics and doing more work.
The country must not be misled by the Opposition and their Facebook warriors who spins lies and manufacture propaganda to discredit what is by far the best Government.
Let us leave politics to 2022 and support political stability as the country is now waiting for Apec spoils. Public servants will be busy delivering Apec catch and they need political stability to deliver effectively and on time.
