Let’s focus more on subsistence farming

Letters

SOMETIME ago, when I heard the Government allocated K200 million for small to medium enterprises (SMEs), I was delighted.
But I had my doubts on how the programme would be rolled out successfully, given the way our Government operates.
SME operators were looking forward to benefiting from this assistance from the Government.
But they are having a hard time accessing loans from the banks. I have seen many instances where the Government’s promises don’t come to fruition.
This is not right.
It appears as if with anything that involves money from the Government, there are too many issues.
How do we expect our people to continue believing in the Government?
I think we all need to go back home and focus on subsistence farming.
Leave the money to our members of parliament and those in power.
