THE different doctrines maintained by different churches should not separate the churches from playing its role together to change the behaviours of the people.
PNG Council of Churches secretary Reverend Roger Joseph said the churches’ part in partnering with the Government to take back PNG is by stepping up their collective mission to change the behaviours and the mind-set of individual people.
He said when individuals change, the nation will change, and corruption, greed and lust will end.
He said churches playing this part well will enable the bureaucrats and leaders (who are members of the churches) to implement with justice the policies and laws of the country.
“I am glad to remark that the leaders of our nation were able to recognise the prophetic role the churches play and were given prominence in our collaborative efforts to work together last year,” Rev Joseph said.
“A lot of big things were achieved through the Church-State partnership.
“Our partnership must be maintained with “understanding” and “respect” and we can guarantee that the relationship will go a long way,” Joseph said.
