Letter in brief

Protect our animals: I AM one of those people who love animals. However, I am sad to say that every day many of these animals are mistreated. Also, when the animals are sick or injured, treatment is not sought because it is too expensive. The only medication that can be afforded is the worm tablet which can no longer be bought over the counter at the RSPCA. This has made some of us wonder what the role of the RSPCA is. Is it to rescue or save helpless animals? The general impression from the feedback we get upon enquiry is that it is only here to treat animals that come from well to do owners.

Why the long wait: THE body of former Northern premier Newman Mongagi has been lying in the morgue for almost four months now. It is sad to see once a prominent leader who has contributed towards the development of Northern in late 1988-90. I wonder why the Oro government has not fast tracked the funds to assist. I am making an appeal to Northern Governor Gary Juffa and Members for Ijivitari and Sohe to come forward and assist the families in repatriation of the body.
