Thank you, Emily:
I thank one of PNG’s longest-serving public servants and teacher, Emily Ricky, who has just retired after 44 years of service. My two children were her students at Ward Strip Demonstration School. Their mum was also her pupil between 1974 and 1979 at Ororo primary, so it was more like looking at the departure of someone close to the family. Congratulations, Emily, for your long and wonderful service to the people. May you have an enjoyable life in retirement with your family, your grandchildren and your people. Well done ER.

Westpac rules:
The management of Mt Hagen Westpac branch has introduced a new policy for customers. Now, customers must take off their hat or cap or whatever is covering their head before walking into the bank. Does this policy improve their security? Why deprive customers their freedom? Wearing a cap has many meanings and for some of us it covers our grey hair and bald spot. Can the management change this policy? We don’t want to be treated like primary school kids when we walk into the bank.

HIV/AIDS funding:
To the writer who wrote victims last week regarding money being spent on HIV, only God will judge, and not you or anyone else in this world, including kings or queens. Whatever is spent on HIV victims has been budgeted for and who are we to ask the government to change it? HIV victims are not benefiting fully from what has been allocated to them. Much of that money is used in awareness campaigns. Read this two Bible scriptures: James 3:2 and Romans 3:10. If you do not make mistakes than good for you.
