Sexual harassment: It is interesting to observe how the different codes to come into play in relation to allegation of sexual harassment at the work place by a department head. In all fairness, each of the codes should be administered independently based on its own findings. It is up to the employing authority to suspend the incumbent and verify all explicit statements and accounts from several victims and have the offender’s contract of employment terminated forthwith to maintain the integrity of the concerned government department. Likewise the criminal code has to complete its own process. This is send a stern warning for those who hold positions of authority to refrain from such criminal behaviour.
