Letters in brief

Teachers await response:
IT is surprising to see teachers’ pay decreasing when the country is calling out to take back PNG.What message is the Government conveying to its hard working low paid people? It’s like torturing your house keeper. If you want to take back PNG, then answer the many unanswered questions by the teachers. We trust you Prime Minister James Marape.

Wenzim SAP,

Explain fee structure:
THE University of Papua New Guinea vice-chancellor in a media interview said the K600 graduation fee was imposed by the previous admin under Dr Nicholas Mann as Chancellor. He said it was processing fees. Can he explain in a full paid newspaper advert the breakup for these fees and why students should pay? Why weren’t these fees divided and added to students’ school fees so as they pay each year, their graduation fees should have been all covered? This is a university, is there anyway research can be done on doing it better instead of burdening students who are struggling to study?

Concerned

Teachers await response:
CONCERN parents and sponsors want to take the UPNG Administration to court for charging graduating students K600 as graduation fee. This fee is unsubstantiated fees and is adding extra burden to parents and sponsors. Is UPNG looking for ways to make money? Strategise and come up with better plans to make money rather than getting money from students.

Fed up Parent,
