Wait for by-election:
GOROKA does not need a political head at all, the district administrator will act as chairman of the DDA until a new member is sworn in after the by-election. The court has made its fair decision and we should respect that. It has ruled in favour of Bire Kimisopa who is no stranger to the political arena. The by-election date has been deferred hence we look forward to that.

Observer,
Goroka

Fix North East roads:
WE, the residents of Wildlife and 8-Mile, kindly ask our good member John Kaupa to fix our roads. These roads need to be upgraded permanently. We voted you so that you can improve and upgrade the road systems.

Be informed:
EMPLOYEES throughout the country will be severely affected due to the coronavirus pandemic. Their health and that of their immediate family members are at stake. Does an employee have the right under the law to claim for compensation or be compensated? All public servants within the country must be adequately informed of this.

Concerned

Invest in SMEs:
I RAISE my concern on the announcement by the PM pertaining to the distribution of food stuff to settlements and suburbs in Port Moresby and Lae. The idea is great, however, two months could be a long time for such an arrangement. Therefore, I suggest that while the plan is executed, any outstanding owed to service providers could also be paid to alleviate sufferings brought upon by the state of emergency (SOE). Majority of small to medium enterprises (SMEs)who depend on this payment for survival can sustain themselves under SOE period.
