Turning away not stigma:
THE nature of turning away from victims is not stigmatising. People are scared of the disease and not the person. That is why they separate themselves from the victims. People are applying isolation and social distancing in fear of contracting the disease. Remember Covid-19 is an infectious disease. Seeing the news around the world on the number of deaths is scary. That is why people are in fear, so they are avoiding the victims. This is not stigmatising.

Boost efforts:
IT is pathetic to hear that every minute a child in Africa dies from malaria. Malaria is a deadly disease carried by the Anopheles mosquito. It kills around 430,000 people yearly and infects more than 200 million. This suffering and loss of life is tragic and unnecessary because malaria is preventable, detectable and treatable. The global effort to eradicate deaths caused by malaria should be reinforced and prioritised. Poor countries should also be effectively assisted to ensure that no child should die from malaria.
