Switched off:
At the weekend, I bought a seven-day 20-channel plan for K28, thinking that the TVWAN Action HD Channel was in the plan. To say that I was disappointed would be an understatement. When one is going through the prompts on the phone, there is no information to tell the customer what channels are on a particular plan. So in reality, no one knows what one is buying. Yes, some information is on the Information Channel 1 but it still does not give the customer the list of channels on each plan. We need to know what we are buying.

O’Neill praised:
I praise Prime Minister Peter O’Neill for his statement on Monday (Feb 18). It is so true that our country is struggling with financial problems and high demand for services. Those who ask smart questions are the ones who don’t realise how needy our demand for services has increased. O’Neill is neither your father nor your big brother. He is the prime minister of this country and he is doing everything he can to deliver services and keep this country going. Please stop complaining.

Apec vehicles:
I refer to a news article in The National (Feb 19) in which Finance Secretary Dr Ken Ngangan said prices for the Apec vehicles have not been disclosed and have not been set. I am really dumbfounded because the Apec Minister told the world that they all “sold out like hot potatoes,” but now he is saying another thing. Please tell the truth.

In the dark:
I am one of the officers in the PNG National Commission for Unesco (Paradise Haus). After the office was amalgamated with the National Department of Education, we were left with nothing to do because our work was taken over by the new officers in the new-look Unesco office operating out of Fincorp Haus. The Paradise Haus office has since closed and the 36-plus officers’ redeployment will be facilitated by the Department of Personnel Management. There has also been an ongoing court battle involving the former secretary-general, the officers in the former office and the other government line agencies that took carriage of the amalgamation process. Can anyone in the Education department, Personnel Management or the Solicitor General’s Office shed some light on what’s happening?

Water issue:
Water is a basic human right and Moresby North-West MP John Kaupa’s bold decision to deliver clean drinking water to all settlements in his electorate is a blessings and the way forward. The Polio virus affected citizens of the Morata swamp who share a common border with 8-Mile and Duran Farm and the minister’s decision to supply clean drinking water deserves our salute. We pray for more wisdom to enrich our future.
