Lewas duo return to Aust for club cricket

Papua New Guinea Lewas’ Brenda Tau and Vicky Ara’a have returned to Australia to play for the Ipswich/Logan Cricket Club in the 2018/19 Katherine Raymond Shield in Queensland’s premier women’s competition.
Ipswich/Logan defeated Sandgate/Redcliffe by 21 runs in their round 19 fixture at Trevor Hohns Oval on Jan 13.
Ipswich/Logan batted first and posted an impressive 4/153 off their allotted 20 overs, with Tau continuing her great form to score an unbeaten 60 runs off 54 balls while Ara’a chipped in to score a handy 17 runs off 14 balls.
In reply, Sandgate-Redcliffe were restricted to only 5/132 off their, with Ara’a picking up 0/24 off her four overs.
In the elimination final played on Sunday, Ipswich/Logan lost to Gold Coast by nine wickets.
Batting first at the Bill Pippen Oval, Ipswich/Logan posted 2/132 off their allotted 20 overs, with Tau managing only two runs while Ara’a made an impressive unbeaten 34 runs off just 39 balls.
In reply, Gold Coast chased down the target in 14.5 overs, losing just one wicket. Ara’a finished with 0/10 off her two overs.
