ONE of the oldest associations in PNG, Lae Football Association (LFA) have secured the services of Panamex as the official sponsors of the competition this season.
The sponsorship package of K51,000 for this year, also sees the company win the naming rights.
Panamex had made available K51,000 for this year with K31,000 to refurbish the fencing facilities and the appalling state of the club house and the balance (K15,000) will be presentation and awards at the end of the season.
Another K5,000 has been handed over to Panamex Soccer Club to pay for registration and affiliation fees to participate in the competition.
Association president Toki Mambare, who was a happy man, said it was the first time for a company to their rescue with a sponsorship deal.
He said such sponsorship was hard during this time of the year but Panamex was committed with the package that was put on hand.
It was the biggest since the establishment of Lae Football Association.
National sales and marketing manager Roland Ram said it was part of their community engagement and soccer was one of the friendly sports they would like to associate with.
A local contractor has been engaged to give a facelift to the clubhouse and fencing at the LFA.
Mambare said there were 25 clubs participating in this season an increase of six teams compared to last year.
