Lift SOE restrictions

Letters

PRIME Minister James Marape and the Pangu Pati led coalition government should not use its numbers in Parliament to pass laws that restrict citizens’ rights to freedom of movement.
Marape should listen to the people and lift the state of emergency restrictions.
The Covid-19 pandemic has not killed a single person in PNG and is here to stay.
Diabetes, malaria, headache and pains, Aids and diarrhoea have been other sicknesses that has been here and will remain.
Persons with such sicknesses go to clinics and hospitals for medical checks and treatments.
The Health Department should improve our health systems nationwide.
Restrictions imposed on people’s rights and freedom would only mean that more people will lose jobs and business activities, loss of government revenue through goods and services tax (GST), increase in crime rate, prostitution and create family problems.
