PAPUA New Guinea lightweight champion Raka Kauko Jr says he will continue preparations, under trainer Jamie Pang, for his upcoming international fights.
“I have been training under Pang since I turned professional in 2017,” he said.
“He is passionate about fight sports.
“He will continue to work with me in terms of training as I prepare for my upcoming international fights.”
Kauko said he had a fight this month and one against Philippine champion Roldan Aldea in a re-match, which was scheduled for early next year.
He said Pang, who is facing drugs and gun charges, had contributed in helping a lot of youths find their purpose in life through sports.
“Jamie took me in after he saw potential in me,” Kauko said.
“He trained me into a better person and a great boxer in the country.
“It’s not only me, he does that to many other boxers, youths that are involved in martial arts.
“He has mentored and trained a lot of boxers.
“He contributed in helping those young men become better people.
“I am one of those men who he has mentored.”
