It said it was closely monitoring the situation and would advise as to when the flights would resume.

Link PNG operates four weekly flights to Tari, on Sunday, Monday, Wednesday and Friday.

The airlines company also announced a temporary suspension on all flights to Girua airport, Northern.

This was due to heavy rains and floods on Wednesday which caused damage to several bridges connecting Popondetta town and the airport. Flights PX 856/857 to Girua yesterday (Thursday 04th Feb) were cancelled.
