Liquor operators, clubs warned

WESTERN Police commander Superintendent Jospeh Puri has urged club and liquor operators to stick to their business hours during the festive period.
He said that failure to do that would result in police forcing the closure of the club or confiscation of licence.
“Our approach is we are giving zero tolerance to disco and parties until the break of day,” Puri said.
He said police had already warned nightclub operators to operate within their licenced hours.
“We will force the clubs to close if they operate beyond the expected time as allowed through their licences,” he said.
Puri said that as far as their licence was concerned, the clubs should operate in the early hours of the afternoon until 2am when everything should close.
“If they want to operate beyond the required time, they have to seek special clearance from us,” he said.
