Live-stream all soccer matches

Letters

FOR two weekends, some of us, the soccer fans, following the Women’s National Soccer League matches in the northern conference were left in the dark because of the failure of PNG Football Association (PNGFA) to live-stream the matches in Lae.
Last week, the Port Moresby matches were live-streamed while the Lae matches weren’t.
What is PNGFA telling us?
Are the matches in the northern conference less important than those in the southern conference?
That was the feeling that some of us had.
Are teams in Port Moresby on a different level than those in Lae, Madang or Goroka?
PNGFA failed to put out a notice explaining the problem.
They didn’t publish minute-by-minute updates on their Facebook page or website on each match.
This is nothing hard.
A journalism student can do it for you if you engage them.
Remember, this is the Papua New Guinea Women’s NSL and fans are following the matches from all over PNG and abroad.
Why is PNGFA and the committee in charge of the matches not providing a good service?
Do we need more Fifa funding to buy more cameras and engage commentators? I noticed in a news article that PNGFA purchased a number of vehicles at a cost of K700,000.
I hope about K50,000 can be found immediately to purchase good quality cameras for live-streaming and engaging commentators.
That would help promote soccer in PNG.
Remember, the Women’s NSL is the top women’s football competition in the country.
It is not a tournament in a rural area.
I urge PNGFA and its committees to get their priorities right.
Let us see you better promote soccer in PNG, which is what you are supposed to do.
The soccer fans deserve better.
