EAST New Britain Governor Ereman ToBaining Jr has assured local level government presidents who were removed from the provincial assembly that they  be given their ex-gratia payments.

He was responding to queries raised by Lassul Baining LLG president Bernard Kulap about the payments.

ToBaining said the provincial government had written to the department of provincial affairs to work out the entitlements for the presidents.

Kulap queried the payments because usually funds were released six months before the next LLG elections.

ToBaining said the provincial administration had been directed to pay the president’s superannuation funds of K5,000 by April 27.

The LLG elections in June will see people in ENB electing 16 presidents, two town mayors for Rabaul and Kokopo, plus 357 ward councillors to represent them in the provincial and local level government assembly.
