Loan scheme good but risky

Letters

I AM concerned about the tertiary loan offered to students who cannot afford the fees.
It may be a great initiative but has high risks.
It is risky getting those loans because the school fees are so high. So unrealistic.
I wonder what will happen to those that are not able to repay, what becomes of them.
Even before they get a job, they already owe money to the state.
I don’t like this system.
Its teaching our young generation to borrow money and it’s not some hundreds, we are talking thousands.
Adults are feeling the pinch of repaying loans and here we are trying to encourage the next generation.
The government should create part-time job opportunities after hours or during weekends to help them meet their needs.
Arrange for private sector companies to assist to provide the jobs.
Again, great initiative but needs more clarity
