Local company opens facility for copra business

A LOCAL company has ventured into copra buying and export with the recent opening of an office and storage facility in Kimbe, West New Britain.
GTM Distributors plans to expand to other provinces with the aim of providing a service to copra growers. The company has an arrangement in place with Bank South Pacific to have an employee stationed at their office to help copra sellers with banking.
It views this as a way of helping local producers save their money instead of taking it home and spening it. The company expects a steady growth in the number of producers visiting its warehouse with the first shipment of copra export to Asia to leave next month.
GTM Distributors’ currenly operates from Bay Side, inside Zilu Scientific Property, in Kimbe.
