Local firm to rehabilitate export office

THE National Executive Council has approved the awarding of a contract to Haom Builders for the rehabilitation of the coffee export office in Lae.
The contract for K10,661,008 was for the rehabilitation work on the Coffee Export office for the Coffee Industry Corporation Ltd (CICL) in Lae.
Governor-General Sir Bob Dadae witnessed the signing of the contract at Government House.
CICL acting chief executive officer Charles Dambui said the signing signified the start of the construction of the building as the current one was old.
Dambui said the office oversees operations in contract registration, shipment notification, contract verification, physical coffee inspection, sampling, recording/logging, quality analysis, and certification for export and movement of coffee to the wharf for shipment.
Dambui and Haom Builders managing director Herman Anep signed the contract yesterday.
Haom Builders is a local company based in Lae. They have 11 years of experience in the business of building construction.
