THE Pacific Industrial Marine Zone in Madang has been repackaged, Commerce Minister Charles Abel said.
Abel said under the repackaging, other outstanding landowner issues were going to be looked into.
He said it included supplying electricity to the villagers, improving and establishing schools and issuing of business development grants to the landowners like the PNG LNG project.
He said the project was not abandoned but it was the government priority impact economic projects which would turn the economy of the country and improve the lives of the people. Not only the tuna projects but also other projects like the Northern seaport will be built near the area.
He was responding to Gabriel Kapris who asked why foreign investors were coming into the country and dictating to the government where they wanted to be established, like the recent tuna establishment in Lae.
