DURING the recent schools holidays three soccer teams from Korobosea International School  took part in the John Bomben Cup in Cairns, Australia.

Teams from all over north Queensland took part but the Korobosea teams were the only international entrants.

The Korobosea teams covered Under-10, U11 and U12.

They all performed with great credit and were a highlight of the tournament.

The U11 team achieved the best result, being placed second in the overall rankings.

A number of students received awards to recognise their outstanding personal performances.

The U12 Koro boys had two students winning the “Best Goalkeeper” and “Player of The Tournament” awards.

MelinoBokuik and Taylor Ugava respectively beat state selected players in Queensland to take out the awards.

The U10 “Best Player” was bagged by a Koroboro player –  Josiah Daimoi.

That capped off a wonderful achievement for the three boys in a highly contested competition.
