WESTERN Highlands’ Deputy Governor Paraka Nii’s appointment has been praised.
Luke Mathew said people like Nii were veteran leaders and they had the vision to lead the province.
He said Nii was a mandated leader in the 1960s along with Nambka Mara and Kagul Koroka.
Mathew said such elderly leaders deserved the appointment because they were loyal and committed to the people and performed their duties with trust.
He said even the provincial assembly was incomplete and Governor Paias Wingti did well to swear in officials.
Mathew said he was leading the count for the Mt Hagen rural president’s seat but Electoral Commissioner Andrew Trawen insisted on a failed election.
Mathew said election for the four LLGs – Mul, Hagen Rural, Kotna, Muglamp and Hagen Urban – were failed by Trawen.
