Local stevedoring firm backs Lae snooker association with K3,000

LOCAL stevedoring company Labu Holdings Limited has backed the Lae Billiards and Snooker Association open mixed doubles competition with K3,000.
Labu Holdings chairman Nasinom Dau presented the cheque to association president Arua Simoi last week.
The competition has two pools of 10 teams taking part in round-robin matches.
The competition is played every Monday, Tuesday, Thursday and Saturday at Aviat Club, and the fee is K50 per team.
Club president Karo Gamoga said Labu Holdings acknowledged the company for its support, saying it had been sponsoring the competition for the last four years.
Simoi thanked thank Labu Holdings for sponsoring the competition.
“I hope you continue supporting us in the future,” he told the company staff who presented the K3,000 funding to the associaition.
“We’re holding our round-robin matches until the finals where the top-five teams in each pool play each other in a crisscross format for the tournament.”
