Locals celebrate opening of church-run hospital

PEOPLE of Obura-Wonenara in Eastern Highlands are celebrating the opening of the Evangelical Brotherhood Church Rural Hospital in the electorate.
The church-run hospital was commissioned last Friday.
Health secretary Dr Osborne Liko said such hospitals equipped with modern medical equipment would provide quality health services to the people.
β€œIt is capable of providing quality health services in the outpatient department and labour ward,” he said.
Liko said the church-run health service was supported by the provincial health division and the Health Department.
β€œA church-run health services partnering with the Health Department is so supportive in many ways in providing genuine services in terms of health care for our people, something that the Government should also be proud of,” he said.
