THE people of Western Highlands still want to know the result of the investigation into the burning of their provincial headquarters, Kapal Haus in October 2008, one man said yesterday.
Daniel Hari from Ragliamp village, outside Mt Hagen city, said although the people had welcomed the idea of a new K100 million headquarters building, they had not been told anything on the cause of the fire and who had been involved in the destruction.
He said the people should be whether it was an electrical fault or arson.
Hari said since razing of the building had affected the lives and future of the 600,000 people of the province.
“Now that we will see the new K100 million provincial headquarters to be built, but the question is how we will protect it from being destroyed or burnt down if the investigations are not revealing anything about the fire,” Hari said.
“The question is will it be safe or there will be a police unit in place to guard it all the time?”
He said if the investigation had been carried out well, they should have been given some answers by now.
