Locals should run stations

FUEL service stations across the country should be a reserved business for indigenous entrepreneurs, says a local licensed operator.
Paul Morris, owner of Canaan Investment Ltd and licensed operator of the Badili Puma Energy fuel station, said this during the opening of its upgraded station in Badili there yesterday.
“I have done 15 years at this task and yes, we have the financial capacity as well. It is regretful every time a foreign company is given a service station licensed by players with the industry,” Morris said.
“There are few of us that come through the process and successful medium entrepreneurs for service stations in Bugandi in Lae, Highlander in Mt Hagen, Sea Breeze in Madang-Hohola-Manu-Boroko, Badili in Port Moresby.”
