Loko to miss round 22 clash after suspension

Sports

SP Hunters forward David Loko will miss Sunday’s Queensland Intrust Super Cup round-22 clash with the Redcliffe Dolphins at the Oil Search National Football Stadium in Port Moresby (3pm kick-off).
Loko was suspended for one match by the Queensland Rugby League judiciary following a dangerous tackle in last Sunday’s 4-60 loss to the Wynnum Manly Seagulls at BMD Kougari Oval in Brisbane.
Experienced campaigners Adex Wera and Ase Boas return from injuries and have been named in the starting side along with in-form fullback Terry Wapi, who returns from his Digicel Cup commitment with the Rabaul Gurias.
Ila Alu, Bland Abavu, Paul Wawa and Willie Minoga have been named on the extended bench.
This will be the Hunters’ farewell match for Stan Joyce, who retires as head of SP Brewery.
The Hunters and Dolphins will play for the Stan Joyce Cup, held by Redcliffe since the Michael Marum-coached side entered the competition in 2014.
A Port Moresby Rugby League women’s match between Black Swan International Royals and Kama Kopi Ltd Sisters will be played as the curtain-raiser, which kicks off at 1pm.
