THE newly-refurbished Loloata Private Island Resort outside Central, will use a cashless payment approach to keep up with the current rapid advances in electronic payments and electronic wallets says Marketing and sales manager Janna Haan.
Haan told The National yesterday that they did not accept any cash payments at any of the resort’s facilities and outlets.
“We have chosen this cashless approach not only for the extra security measures but to keep up with the world’s rapid advances in electronic payments and electronic wallets.
“The world is fast moving to cashless and we are not the first in this by a long shot,” she said.
Haan said they had several Eftpos machines available for any transactions necessary and they accept all PNG bank cards, Visa and Mastercard as well as direct bank transfers.
While providing an update on the facility, Haan said they offered accommodation within 22 well-appointed rooms and suites.
“We also have two restaurants and our resort spa: Sea Salt Spa.
“During the first week of November, we will have a total of 68 rooms and suites available,” she said.
“Our dive and activities centre will also be operational by this time and will offer snorkelling trips, dive packages and professional association of diving instructors (PADI) dive courses as well as stand up paddle (SUP) and kayaking.
“We will also explore the possibilities of other boating activities such as sunset cruises, fishing charters and sea birdwatching tours.”
Lolota is a tripartite investment arrangement between the National Superannuation Fund (Nasfund), Lamana Development Group and Solomon Islands National Provident Fund (NPF).
