Long wait for clearance

Letters

GETTING police clearance or any other clearances at the Gordon Forensic Police office following protocol is a thing of the past.
It’s almost a month now since I went with my wife to submit her receipt for police clearance after paying the K10 fee at Vulupindi Haus.
That was a Tuesday which is the scheduled day to receive receipts from 8am to 12pm.
We arrived at 10am and the attending officer (a well-built guy in his 50s) told everybody to go away as they had received 150 receipts already.
He added that anyone who hung around the office would be arrested for loitering.
I remarked that he was paid to work from 8am to 5pm, and he told me, ‘Don’t come and tell us what do as you don’t know what we do here’.
Then on Friday we went again and he got the receipt but did not give us the docket number and did not get my wife’s fingerprint. Then on Monday when we went to get the clearance he said he did not get our receipt.
He got my wife’s number for further advice and we are still waiting.
