Lower tax, higher pay for teachers

TEACHERS are the true backbone of this nation and its development.

They provide real service to the government by tirelessly sacrificing themselves in educating the students of this country.

Most of these hard-working servants do not live in areas that have access to government services such as roads and airstrips.

They take days walking through rugged mountains and river valleys to reach shopping centres.

They do a lot of overtime work, but they are being deprived by the government they serve through high taxes.

Teachers are taxed around K100 per fortnight, which is unjust.

The government has to reduce their tax and increase their salaries as well as providing them with proper housing.
