MAPAI Group is looking forward to staging the Mapai Unity Games (MUG) tomorrow as part of an effort to develop its staff, says managing director Jacob Luke, pictured.
“The event unites more than 400 staff from our branches in Mt Hagen, Goroka and Lae from Nov 10-11,” Luke said.
“The games are all about building team spirit, and knowing and embracing everyone’s roles in the company.”
Luke said the games were also about appreciating the efforts of the staff.
He said this year was the first edition of the games following the company’s inception 28 years ago.
Chief executive Kevin Christie said the games kick off at the University of Technology in Lae at 9am.
He said 14 teams were expected to take each other on in the games, according to a statement.
The overall winners will be awarded the inaugural MUG Shield, with individual performances to be recognised with medals.
