Lutheran Church members must call for inquiry
The National, Friday February 5th, 2016
ALL Lutheran Church members must unite in their voices and seek an Independent body to investigate the corruption scandals.
It is totally unacceptable for officials and senior clergy of Lutheran Church to be indulge in corrupt practices while pastoral workers out in the fields are working under unbearable conditions to look after congregation members.
I am a strong supporter and have funded various Lutheran activities in the country.
My parents have also supported the church over the years. My mother is currently the “head meri” of the local village Lutheran Church.
My grandfather also donated his hardwood trees back in the 1940s to the build a prominent Lutheran Church building in Chimbu.
I have recently also donated to the construction of another Lutheran Church building.
Other supporters out there too have supported the Lutheran Church activities.
I am devastated when I read about the corrupt activities that affect the Lutheran Church administration and business management.
Please appoint an independent body to investigate and expose those individuals and groups.
The investigation will enable us to learn and develop mechanisms to prevent such corruption in the future.
