MALAYSIA’S deputy minister of trade and industry Hamim Samuri will be visiting PNG next week.
Accompanying Samuri will be Ministry of International Trade and Industry Malaysia, Malaysia Investment Development Authority, Small and Medium Enterprise Corporation of Malaysia and Malaysia External Trade Development Corporation officials.
The visit, next Tuesday and Wednesday, is to strengthen relations and
cooperation as well as promote mutual economic interests and exchange information particularly in terms of developing the small medium business enterprise sector.
The visit is to reciprocate the visit to Malaysia by the Richard Maru, Minister of Trade, Commerce and Industry, last June when he attended Malaysia’s annual SME show.
Samuri will meet Maru to discuss investment and trade promotion matters.
He is scheduled to meet the Investment Promotion Authority, Small Business Development Corporation and business associations.
They will chair a roundtable discussion on SME development.
He is also scheduled to meet the Malaysian community, including investors in Papua New Guinea.
